Be The Hands! – A Week of Mission Work and Fellowship
We hope you’ll plan to take part in CPC’s Be the Hands activities this spring. Be the Hands offers many one-time service opportunities in a two-week timeframe. We would like to see many of our members participate, by committing volunteer time to a service opportunity, or donating items needed for some of the projects. Please join your CPC family to be the hands of Christ, spreading Christ’s love throughout our community. Sponsored by the Community Partnerships team, this is a great time of service and fellowship.
We’ll join together to shop for groceries and supplies, prepare meals, make blankets, paint a kitchen for the Carying Place, assemble care and snack kits and quite a bit more. No matter your age, interests, talents, or family status, there will be something for you. Together, we’ll continue to Be the Hands of Christ for so many in our community and beyond!
Project Sign Up – On-line project signups are now available via Sign Up Genius at this link: Most projects are scheduled on March 1 and 2, but the exceptions are:
Some service opportunities can be completed independently, so you and your family have the flexibility to participate on your own schedule, and some will give you a chance to work with other church members. We welcome you to participate in one or more of these important activities.
Giving Tree: Some of the items we need for these projects will be purchased by the church, and we ask that others be donated. The giving tree will be in the Narthex this Sunday, February 9, with tags describing the items we need. We hope that you can take a tag and return the item to the Narthex by Sunday, February 23.
Food and Fellowship: We’ll have a time of fellowship after the worship service on March 9. We’ll share a lunch prepared by Al Hardie, and share with each other what we’ve done and what we learned.
For more information or to help with planning, please contact Julie Page, pagejb4@gmail.com
We look forward to working together to Be the Hands of Christ in the world!
Town of Cary Housing Priorities Survey
The Town of Cary is looking for input from Cary residents about their priorities in spending federal funds for affordable housing. This survey just takes a few minutes to complete.
You can pick four priorities on a couple of the questions, which is good. Habitat for Humanity says that the lack of affordable housing is such a problem, we need to use a multi-pronged approach, like funding for new rental and owner affordable homes, as well as helping to maintain existing affordable housing (assist with maintenance, energy efficiency, etc).
We encourage you to take the time to complete this survey. They have $700,000 in HUD funding to spend this year, and more in subsequent years, thus the need to set some priorities. You can find more information about Cary’s housing plan here: https://housing.carync.gov
And here is a link directly to the survey.
