Who can vote absentee?: any eligible voter in Wake County
Deadline to return an Absentee Ballot: Absentee ballots must be returned to the Wake County Board of Elections office by mail or in person by 5:00pm on Oct. 20, 2026.
How to get a ballot: Complete this form to request a ballot to be sent to you in the mail. Remember, it needs to be returned by Oct. 20, so request the form early! OR complete and submit the form online here. You can also pick up a ballot at the Wake County Board of Elections office, 1200 New Hope Rd, Raleigh, 27610.
What do I need? You must include a photocopy of your NC Driver's License or
other approved photo ID with your mailed ballot.
How much postage is required to return a ballot in the mail? A mailed ballot requires $1.98 in postage. (1st class postage is now $0.82. So mail your ballot with 2 stamps plus an additional $0.34)
